So I turned 15 weeks on Monday and was really disappointed that I just looked like I had a flabby belly. (That's another charming thing about pregnancy that they never tell you, all your junk gets shifted upwards so you end up with displaced fat, etc, making your stomach look like you're really bloated)...but lo and behold I looked down today and I've finally popped!!! Below are the pics from 2 days ago and today....you can see the difference in just a two day span.
I really am starting to feel like I'm blooming. my nails are gorgeous and I've just gotten my hair done, and I finally look pregnant! I deserve it for all the nausea, headaches, pimples, and unpleasant intestinal side effects I've had to endure. I know, it's gross, ...but true indeed.
Today is new years eve but due to currently being knocked up, however, I won't be celebrating the traditional way, so me and the hubby have decided to go have a nice dinner instead. I really don't miss the drinking much, but going out on New Year's Eve is always fun. It's ok though, we have more to celebrate for this coming year than ever before!!!!
Oh....and only 1 week 4 days until our gender ultrasound!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here I am 2 days ago:
And this is me today:
So according to some of the baby books today marks the beginning of my second trimester (14weeks)! According to the others, my 2nd trimester started last week, but either way I'm definitely in the Honeymoon phase now. Everything they say is true about the second trimester, no morning sickness, more energy, etc. It's a beaustiful thing. I had a really hard time in the first trimester so this should be amazing.
Last week week we had the baby's first scan done. It was absolutely breathtaking!!!! He (we don't know the gender for sure, but we say he) was moving his little arms about and we even saw him yawn. Here's the photo for the 13 week ultrasound
He's got his daddy's long legs!!!!!
We were so scared before that appt that something was wrong that when we saw the little one moving about in there I cried right away. They also moved my due date up two days from the 24th of June to the 22nd which was nice. I can't wait till my next appointment! (They don't do another u/s until Feb. but we are considering a gender scan sooner).
We also got a fetal doppler last week so we could hear the baby's heartbeat whenever we wanted. Sucha device is handy for people like me who are paranoid all the time about their little one being ok.
Today we got a book called "Oh baby, the places you'll go" with the adapted work of Dr.Seuss. It is a book that is meant to be read in utero and we plan to read it every day. I highly recommend it.
So I'm hoping by next week I'll really pop. That is the next time I'm taking belly pics.
See you next week!
Lexi D.
