Life in Bloom

Preserving self and sense of humor while discovering the joys of being Mama

So, sorry I haven't updated in a while. I've been lazy. Anyway, in 2 days I'll be halfway there! 20 weeks down, 20 to go!. I have it in my head that the second half will go a lot quicker, so I am really looking forward to this milestone.

Lately things have been pretty hectic this way. Tom and I are getting stuff ready to go back to the states and I have vacuum packed all my summery and pre-preggo clothes already. I officially have 1 month to go before I am out of England!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you tell I'm excited? Well, I will miss Tom so that'll be hard, but I'm getting the blues with the weather being so cold and grey day after day, so the sun wil be a welcome change.

I have been very accident prone lately, which is a bit disconcerting. Two weeks ago I pulled a pelvic ligament trying to work out and was on bedrest for a few days and this past week I fell outside the house and banged up my knee and couldn't walk properly for two days. I am a mess! Luckily everything was okay with our precious Lyla Rose.

Speaking of our little bean, she's been a very active baby lately. Now that my uterus is bigger she is kicking all over the place. I have been feeling several kicks by my belly button this week which is pretty weird and cool. I love to feel her in there, ...it lets me know she's a happy girl. So I did an 18 and 19 week preggy pic. Here they are:

I feel absolutely massive! I have decided to scale back on the junk food and opt for healthier choices going forward so I feel a bit better about myself. And so far I feel great. The urges to eat junk are still there, but getting better.
Well, that's all for now. I will try to post in week 20 with pics. Our next appointment at the docs is Feb.16th for the anomaly/anatomy scan where they check our little one and make sure everything's functioning as it should. I am looking forward to seeing her again and will post pics when I do!

Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been soooo tired this past week. But I have lots of news...first of all our doc appt on the 15th went great, all my blood work is back and it looks like our little one is at virtually no risk for down or trisomy's 13 and 18 which is great! Also, we paid to do a gender ultrasound at Babybond on the 11th. I was getting serious blue vibes throughout my pregnancy and just wanted to see if I was right or not. If we didn't pay we would've had to wait till mid-Feb to find out the gender and the suspense was killing me! (Not to mention I love seeing the little one on the screen!) So after a lot of poking and prodding (this baby's a cheeky monkey) we finally found out IT'S A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am over the moon. I really did want a little girl even though I thought it was a boy so I am really happy that I have no idea what goes on inside my body lol. We have settled on a name and can't wait to meet our precious Lyla Rose Dyde. Here are some pics:
